Glaciers are Pretty

Big weekend for glaciers--the wildness class climbed down to the Mendenhall Glacier in pouring rain. We scrambled up and down some pretty slick rocks (including a waterfall!), saw some cool striations, and touched the ice with a geologist who told us about stuff having been formed 200 million years ago. Makes last week seem pretty petty, huh? Here are the photos from the glacier hike, which was cold, miserable, and completely worth the agony of thinking you were going to fall off a cliff .
